ذكرت صحيفة "لاجازيتا ديلو سبورت" الإيطالية، أنه من المقرر أن تجرى عملية التشريح اليوم بمستشفى سانتو سبيريتو فى بيسكارا، التى نقل إليها موروسينى، عقب تعرضه للأزمة ووقوعه على أرض الملعب فى الدقيقة 30 من عمر المباراة، وفقد الوعى قبل أن تنقله سيارة الإسعاف على الفور من استاد "أدرياتيكو" إلى المستشفى.

توفى اللاعب على أرض الملعب، بعد أن أجريت له عملية تدليك لقلبه قبل وصول سيارة الاسعاف، وأشار ليوناردو بالوسكيا رئيس قسم القلب بالمستشفى إلى أن الفريق الطبى فعل كل ما بوسعه لانقاذ اللاعب، لكنه لم يستعد وعيه أبدا.
